ABOUT
TANYA KONG
B.E.S., LL.B., J.D.
Principal & Founder of Kong Law & Kong Love
“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he’s always doing both.”
— James A. Michener
Tanya Kong is a multidimensional professional who brings presence, precision, and deep emotional intelligence to everything she does. She is a barrister, solicitor, and notary, as well as the founder of Kong Law and Kong Love—two distinct practices united by one vision: to make integrity, clarity, and heart the standard in business and life.
TWO PRACTICES
KONG LAW
Through Kong Law, Tanya serves as fractional general counsel to small and medium-sized businesses, providing strategic legal partnership on a retainer basis.
She also offers individual legal services on a limited basis, including wills and estate planning, family law matters, contract review, strategic consultations, and notarization services.
KONG LOVE
Through Kong Love, Tanya works as a transformational coach, helping clients become conscious of the invisible patterns and unconscious agreements keeping them stuck.
Her coaching is private, face-to-face, and invitation-only—deliberately unscaled to preserve the depth of transformation possible in profound human connection.
EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
Tanya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Business from the University of Waterloo (2006), and a Law degree from the University of Ottawa (2010). She is called to the bars of both Ontario and British Columbia and has worked and studied internationally in the UK, Germany, Austria, Spain, and across Canada.
Born in New Brunswick, raised in Ontario, and now based in British Columbia, Tanya is proud to be a first-generation Canadian rooted in service and community.
PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
She began her legal career at Zayouna Law in Mississauga before becoming Legal Counsel for PointClickCare, one of Canada’s fastest-growing tech companies. There, she negotiated sales and commercial contracts, led internal legal processes, and ensured cross-border regulatory compliance in healthcare, privacy, and corporate matters.
Tanya later established Kong Law in Whistler, BC, and has also served extensively within the legal department of lululemon, where she negotiated global technology contracts and helped build scalable legal infrastructure in support of one of the world’s most iconic lifestyle brands.
Throughout her 15-year legal career, she has brought the same core question to every client relationship: What do you really want, and what’s standing in your way?
THE EVOLUTION TO COACHING
Tanya’s work has always been grounded in a deep curiosity about the human experience. In legal work, she removes external barriers. But she discovered that the same intuition that makes her a strategic lawyer also makes her a transformational coach.
In coaching, she helps dissolve the internal ones—the invisible contracts, unconscious patterns, and internal conflicts that keep people stuck. Both practices require truth-telling. Both demand courage. Both create profound transformation.
What started as curiosity became calling. Coaching isn’t a side practice—it’s where her legal mind meets her intuitive heart, creating something entirely new.
BEYOND THE PRACTICES
Outside of her professional roles, Tanya is a Yoga Alliance Certified RYT 200 instructor, a singer, pianist, and painter (particularly of the moon), and a lover of the natural world.
Her creative life is inseparable from her professional one. Whether negotiating a contract or facilitating a breakthrough, she brings the same presence: intuitive, exacting, and heart-led.
